Our Events


           2017 annual sports meet of our DEC-Anbalaya, was organised on 12.08.2017, Saturday at our lady Hr.sec,school, Thiruvottiyur. On that day, a great significance was observed among the students and the parents. All of them came in a number 160 parents & children to enjoy the sports programme. Chief guest Mr.S. Rajkumar M.A., Honorable Inspector of Police, received the march past. Dr. Lalithakumari (Founder & CEO, Care groups, Chennai) had taken the time to declare the sports meet.  Finally the yellow team,Anbalaya Rural Special School, win the year trophy from the guest.After the successful training in karate four from ARSS got a yellow belt in karate.



Regarding Sports Day, every year we arrange stage performances for our special peoples through their house colour. It was conducted for 10 days to exhibit their talent in DECIPLINE, ENCOURAGEMENT & CREATIVITY. They had radiant opportunities to perform like drama, music, dance, singing etc.., the purpose of the performance was to identify talented children and shapping them better in future. Parent also took part with their children and they show eager ness in their children’s performance.


            Free dental check-up was organised by Baskar Dental Foundation on 26.07.2017 at our centre. Dr. Mr. P. Thirumalai Rajan B.D.S., and Mr. D. Suraj, Manager assessed the children and staffs. There were 50 children and staffs examined in the camp. Apart from the treatment, children were made aware about dental health and hygiene under the supervision of Doctors.


Our ABLE Trainees went to Industrial visit on 17.06.2017, Saturday, with our secretary Mr. K. Prabhakaran and our staffs Mr.Jagadeesan & Mrs. Renuka to KCP Limited, Thiruvottiyur. We went to the Foundry section, New shed, Fabrication shed, Extra heavy shed & Light shed.  Through the educational visit, ABLE trainees really enjoyed and experienced the new machinery environment. Thanks to KCP Limited and special thanks to our accountant Mr. Jahadeesan for arranging the visit successfully.



                   Our society member & Legal Advisor, Advocate Mr. Arivunithi & team of Lodge Justistia No.80, sponsored a mat weaving machine and arranged a fine lunch with colour full uniformed T shirt for our centre on 24.06.2017’ Saturday at Egmore, Free Mansion Hall. Including our Anbalaya Rural Special School around 100 special children and staffs participate the programme.


Ministry of Youth & Sports Welfare Nationals for all Disability

MYAS National Game conducted Badminton & Table Tennis held from the 05th to 10th June 2017 at National Law College, Gujarat. In the sports event 5 of our athletes represented for Tamil Nadu. 4 of the trainees are participated for Table Tennis. And one athletes for took part in Badminton. He got gold medal in the singles finals. TT male athlete got Silver and Bronze respectively. Thanks to our coach Mr. Murugan and SOBTN. 



              Special Olympic Bharat National Championship Net ball game held from the 25th - 30th May 2017 at Hariyana. In these sports events from India 16 states, from Tamilnadu state 18 Athletes and 4 coaches took part in the game.  4 districts (Chennai, Thiruvallur, Trichy & Tuticorin) are represented as Tamil Nadu. In the event the female team got silver medals and male team got bronze medals. In our centre 5 of our athletes went and got both medals.


DEC took effort to give training cum placement for the adolescent Intellectually Challenged for the past several years. To continue the process with the support of AIF  and LC Nagapattinam DEC arranged a training named “ÄBLE.” The period of the training is about 17 months. We Started the training in the month of Nov 2017. Under the training we train in three different trades like Paper cup making, catering and screen printing. The trainees were passed through base line assessment like special education and functional assessment and psychological assessment. Regular training, evaluation and on the job training will take place in the following months.

Functional Training 




Staff training was conducted in our centre on 2nd June 2017. The day was special day to all the dedicated staffs, we invited the resource person from Chennai, Muttukadu, TISS Extension Centre, Mr. Ramesh to organise the training based on 3 topics. 1. Communication, 2. Responsibilities 3. Caring for the children. He shared many practical examples related to the topics and encouraged our staffs with interested video clipping. As the day passed with the activity that are performed by the staffs. He described about team work that staffs can using their individual skills to uplift the performance of the children in their class room.

AMBA Training

Students were given opportunity to learn computer operations from AMBA, an organization from Bangalore. Under this training, the students learnt digital form filling, speed typing and basic computer learnings too.  Twenty trainees were involved in the program, this will help them for their livelihood. This program is funded by AMBA themselves.
