ALUMINI DAY

DEC – AnbalayA’s alumini day is celebrated on 25th June 2019. Those who are successful in their training and placed in the job have assembled on the day of celebration. Out of the successfull trainees few of them namely Mr. Aasif, Mr. Gogul, Mr. Ruthrashwar, Ms. Anusuya and Ms. Ramya took part in the gathering. After a long break it is very excited for them to meet each other and the Anbalaya team. The day started with the short meeting of self sharing followed with the outing  to Decathlon sports shop and there were play in to the playing area. Then they proceed to sathiyam theatre to saw a movie ‘THUMBA’ – A wild animal story. They enjoyed movie with nice food in the evening. They were back to centre at 5.45 pm. Over all the day is remarkable to all of them. The team of alumini is engaged by our secretary Mr. K. Prabhakaran.

DENTAL CAMP@ARSS -2019

These innocent kids don’t ever know the reason of their smile but that cute sensible smile of them can make any worries of us to fly far away.

            On 15th June 2019, dental camp was held at Anbalaya Rural Special School, Tiruvallur by SRM dental college & hospital, Ramapuram. A six member team representing the college on the event of world autism day came to give a free dental check-up.

About 17students and 5 staffs are given neat check-up and are advised on dental care about how to brush teeth properly and hygienic care that has to be given to teeth. It is held in a excellent way and useful for student’s dental care.

SUMMER CAMP

Summer camp was conducted on 29th April to 3rd May in 2019.  There were students participated in summer camp.  Activities conducted in the camp were 1. Communication, 2.Modified writing, 3. Sound makers, 4.Drawing, 5.Art and craft, 6. Yoga, 7. Skill (Based on sports), 8. Play and learn, 9. Dance,  10. Own Talent Activities, etc.,

Students were practised by two teachers as three batches.  Totally 12 teachers were enjoyed the camp by joyfully and interest.  On 5th day of camp, parent were invited to show the talent of the students which was practised on four day in the camp.  Students ware collected T-shirts as a gift. 

23RD ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION

23rd Annual day started with prayer song @ DEC permises on 5th April 2019.  Special guest lighted the lamp.  After the lamp lighting, the heading “PARAMBARIAM NAN THELAIMURIYEN ADIYALAM” tradition cultural programme started (bharadhan, kolattam & karagam).  It continued by the programme existent animals ramp walk is done by our centre student and chief guest presented gift to the students participated in Special Olympics World Summer Games 2019 held in Abudhabi and gave congratulation speech. Prize given to disciplined students in class.  At last programme ended with vote of thanks.

DENTAL CAMP

Dental camp was conducted on the Autism Day, April 2nd 2019 by Dr. Suman Mathew and team of doctors.  Camp was started by 10.00 am checking the both of her children by class by class Starting from early intervention continued inter medium ended at vocational.  Doctors guide to keep the teeth healthy and how to safeguard from spoiling the teeth.  They sponsored brush to every student. The camp got over 1.00 pm. The camp was very useful to the student and to their parent as they give some suggestions for students for their future treatment.  Our correspondent and our secretary thanked Dr. Suman & team for having dental camp in the DEC permises.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES 2019

Special Olympics world games have been conducted in UAE from 14th March to 21st March 2019. There are about 192 nations with 7000 athletes & 4000 coaches are the key partners of the events. India finish with tally of 368 medals including 85 gold, India also bagged 154 silver and 129 bronze medals across various sports in UAE.

India scripted history in UAE by scooping 85 gold, 154 silver and 129 bronze.

Medals were won across all sports - athletics, golf, volleyball, aquatics, cycling, judo, power lifting, table tennis, roller skating, badminton, basketball traditional & unified, handball traditional and football 7-side female.

It was also the first time India participated in Judo and Futsal - clinching 3 gold, 1 silver and seven bronze medals respectively.

From Tamil Nadu 21 Athletes took part in these remarkable events. They come out with Three Gold, 17 Silver and 6 Bronze.  We are delighted to share that two female special athletes Ramya, & Tamilarasi from Development Education Centre represented Tamilnadu in the world games.  Mario Cyril Vasanthan (Unified partner, Basket Ball) and Ms Laya Rebakka (Coach) had the great opportunity to participate in this world games.  We are so proud of athlete Tamilarasi and unified partner Mario Cyril Vasanthan received silver medals in 200 mts race and basketball unified game respectively. Ramya of course proved her performance in the tough events 200mts and 100mts and take the position of 6th and 5th in that order. It is the moment of encouraging and inclusive atmosphere which enable them to be mature enough to face any situation. With a vision of treating all athletes equally, the Special Olympics event offers chances to individuals with not just physical but also intellectual disabilities to compete in any situation. We thank to Special Olympics Bharat and Tamil Nadu chapter for giving great opportunity.  

 

HAND WASH CAMPAIGN

March 21, 2019 at YMCA ground, Royapetta, one of India’s largest radio stations has started the Hand wash campaign for the special kids called- IRU KAI PURATCHI. The campaign which made it to the  Asia Book of Records with the Participation around 1500 special kids. Among our children, staffs and teachers totally 57 of us participated in the event. The campaign stressed on the importance of washing hands with soap. The campaign about the issue at hand, how number of lives that can be saved when hands are washed properly and how the issue needed to be eradicated from the roots by adopting healthy habits. Our children were participated enthusiastically and did the action according to the rhythm of the song.  The highlight of the event is Mr. R.J. Balaji (Actor & Anchor in the radio & film industry) as a special invitee in the programme.

VOTERS AWARENESS RALLY

As per the advice from the District Collector and guidance of the DDAWO instruction, DEC took effort to organise a voter awareness rally on 16.3.2019 with the support of Kumaran Special School and various PWD., associations from Thiruvottiyur.  It’s started near the Vadivudaiamman temple to end at T.H Road. More than 100 participants involved in this rally. The rally was initiated to promote the awareness among the PWD’s for voting. There were slogans about the importance of voting and special arrangements to do for the disabled persons on the day of voting. Finally thanking the participants and police production the rally got ended.   

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

    On 12.03.2019 International Women's Day Celebration celebrated at our centre with the theme on "Come to be the woman to achieve." Special callers on that day were Mrs. KhanjaAdvocate given speech on  “strength of the women in the weakness” Mrs. Arul Thangam, from Help Line  gave a message on Help line for the women and Mrs. Indhu Mathi specified “women as a gift” in her speech. All together 100 women participated on that event. They were participated in the debate, Women’s Development is the societies Development or Women’s Development is the society’s weakness, and conducted different games for the parents and given prizes.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME

DEC collaborated with MSW internship students from Loyola College gave programme for 60 children in the tsunami quarters, municipal middle school at Thiruvottiyur for two days 27th and 28th February 2019.  The college student conducted different games, songs and dances to the children. The chief guest from High court advocate Mrs. Auxiliya was invited to give speech on education and its impact on society, menstrual hygiene and cleanliness. Finally at the end prizes were distributed for the winners. All the children were pleased by this programme and got the new messages for their life.
