We are very glad that the World Disabled Day celebration held on 8th December in the premises of DEC – AnbalayA. The performances performed by students of about 150 who are multiple disabilities, mentally challenged from various schools are overwhelming. The efforts put by the students have really paid off and we consider this celebration as an occasion where they could prove their talent and have made the schools really proud. The success could not be possible without the assistance of the sponsors IOC, staff members and students. The event started off with lunch for all the staff members and students of various participating schools followed by lighting the lamp by the chief guests. The performances comprised of group activities like group dance, puppet show, mass drill, yoga, and group singing. The students proved themselves by show casting their individual talents through debating, mehendi competition, keyboard playing, and students who had edge over others have been given prizes  as well as consolations in order to motivate and reward their zeal and enthusiasm. This event has brought about the union of few neighbourhood special schools namely Kumaran school, KRM special school, Spastian special school, Aavai Kappagam, Anbalaya special school and Anbalaya rural school and was joyful and motivating for the students as well as the staff members.
